Lake Country Summer Shuttle

A NEW WAY TO EXPLORE LAKE COUNTRY THIS SUMMER

This summer, the District of Lake Country is launching a free Summer Shuttle Pilot to make it easier for people to get around the community without a vehicle.

Whether you're heading to the beach, attending Live! in Lake Country, running errands, going to work, or exploring local destinations, the Summer Shuttle offers a convenient way to travel throughout Lake Country.

The Summer Shuttle complements existing BC Transit service and does not replace Routes 23, 32 or 90. Riders are encouraged to use both services together to access more destinations throughout the community.

The Summer Shuttle is free to ride and operates Saturdays and Sundays until September 6. Sunday, September 6 is the final day of service for the 2026 pilot.

HOW THE PILOT WORKS

Saturdays & Sundays – Community Shuttle (Until September 6th)

On Saturdays and Sundays, the Summer Shuttle connects beaches, parks, shopping areas, wineries, restaurants, community facilities and other popular destinations throughout Lake Country.

The shuttle is free to ride and operates using two routes:

🔵 Blue Route – travels counter-clockwise around the community.

🟢 Green Route – travels clockwise around the community.

Hours of Operation: 12:00 p.m. – 7:45 p.m.

The Blue Route shuttle and Green Route shuttle travel the same loop in opposite directions. Depending on where you're going, one route may get you there faster. Use the route maps and schedules below to choose the shuttle that best suits your trip!

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?

The Summer Shuttle Pilot implements a recommendation from the District's Integrated Transit Strategy, which identified a seasonal shuttle as an opportunity to improve transportation options in Lake Country. To better understand the community's transportation needs and assess the viability of a seasonal shuttle service, Council directed staff to test the concept through an eight-week pilot.

The pilot is funded through the District's Climate Action Reserve, a non-tax revenue source generated through the sale of electricity from the District's hydroelectric plant. The pilot will help the District better understand how the service is used and whether it meets the needs of the community.

Throughout the pilot, we'll be evaluating:

• Ridership
• Travel patterns
• Popular stops and destinations
• Community feedback
• Opportunities to improve future service

The results will help inform future transportation planning and Council's decisions about whether to continue or expand the service.
