Early in 2020 survey results and feedback received from a community wide survey were instrumental in developing the design for the new Beasley park playground. The final concept was able to incorporate most of the favorite features plus more! Below is a recap of some suggestions received in the 149 survey responses.

Goals that were supported included:

  • Create a well-rounded, dynamic, and open-ended play experience;
  • Improve accessibility and inclusivity for children of all ages and abilities; and
  • Encourage children and their parents to come for activity, socializing, learning, and fun!

Life on the Farm theme was popular for the new playground and the District received hand drawn sketches from children showing what they had in mind.

Top 10 favorite Active Play features included:

  • Rope Bridge, Balance Course, Rock Climb, Tower, Slide, Rope Swing, Swing Set, Spin Pod or Seat, Monkey Bars and Rolling Topography

Top 5 Favorite Creative Play features:

  • Willow Fence or Shelter, Loose Parts, Stacking, Workshop, and Water Pump & Trough
