District of Lake Country Website Redesign
Consultation has concluded
We are redesigning the District website!
Why are we doing this?
- Lifespan: as a general rule of thumb, the lifespan of most websites is 2-3 years. The current website was developed in 2017 making it long overdue for a redesign.
- Improve the user experience: citizens deserve a functional and user friendly navigation to quickly find District information on the website.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest technology and design trends: older websites can appear dated and are often unable to keep up with the latest features and functionalities.
- Security: regular updates ensure the website has all the current security features installed.
We are excited about this project and eager to reveal the updated website later this year! We encourage you to ask any questions or leave comments below. A member of our staff will be monitoring and responding to each query.

LongTimeRes asked 11 months agoThank you for your comment. A few years ago the secure, online portal MyLakeCountry was developed, which gives residents 24/7 access to their Lake Country accounts. This includes Utility Billing, Property Tax, Business Licences and Permits. We continue to expand this service so residents have an easy way to view their account information.
The website we are redesigning is the official District of Lake Country website: District of Lake Country. Along with a new look, we are prioritizing the site navigation to ensure that residents can easily access information they need.
Stay tuned for more updates to come and we hope you will enjoy the website launch later this year! -
Share Hi there, Are you able to have council meeting times more prominent or easier to find on the website? I find that you have to dig to get the information you need. I’ve noticed that when watching meetings online, there has been a lot of audio difficulties. The City of Penticton has a nice, easy-to-use website. They also have a Zoom link provided for their council meetings, should the audio fail. Just a thought :) https://www.penticton.ca/ on Facebook Share Hi there, Are you able to have council meeting times more prominent or easier to find on the website? Taylor asked 11 months agoThanks for your question Taylor. Ensuring the public can attend (in person or virtually) the council meetings is really important to us. We recognize the current challenges we've encountered recently with audio issues, hard to find links, etc. and so having a dedicated section on the homepage for Council meeting information is a priority. The new website will have a section much like the example you provided from City of Penticton, which will hopefully streamline the process for citizens. Thanks again for submitting your question!

Share This isn't so much a question as it is some inspiration. I recently looked at the website for the town of Riverview, New Brunswick and thought "I wish Lake Country's website looked like this!" The graphics, the layout, the language used...all combined it made the town seem like an enticing place to live. https://www.townofriverview.ca/ on Facebook Share This isn't so much a question as it is some inspiration. Karina asked 11 months agoThank you for sharing Karina, Riverview does look like an enticing place to visit! In terms of the layout, I think you'll see some similarities between this and the proposed design for the new website. We certainly have no shortage of beautiful images of the surrounding area to use. Aside from looking clean and welcoming, we're also focused on ensuring the navigation works well for all users and topics of interest are easy to find. Thanks again for sharing, if you haven't already please consider participating in the online survey/questionnaire to assist us!
