Playgrounds have become boring!

In the rush to prioritize safety and maintenance concerns, today’s playgrounds are often missing the creativity, challenge, and imagination that are beneficial to children’s physical, cognitive, and emotional development.

With your help, the District of Lake Country would like to change this, and to offer better play opportunities for our children. This doesn’t mean ignoring safety regulations or discarding tried-and-true play equipment, but it does mean re-establishing a healthier balance between safety and the importance of play.

Thank you to the 32 community members who took the time to fill out the survey this past summer. Taking all feedback into consideration a park design has been created and construction of the new playground began with removal of the existing playground on September 14th. Construction is scheduled to be complete by November, 2020.
